Naandi Community Water Services (NCWS) - one of India's largest community based drinking water solutions provider, set up in 2010 through collaboration between Naandi Foundation's Trustees and danone. communities. Our mission is to save lives of underserved communities in India; by providing them access to safe drinking water in a sustainable manner. We do this by setting up community water centers (CWCs - treatment facilities) in areas where the existing drinking water sources are contaminated with chemicals and microbes; and unfit for consumption. We’ve so far set up over 640 community water centers (CWCs) across seven states in India and have provided safe drinking water access to over 700,000 people. Our aim is to reach out to 1.5 million people by 2022. As part of NCWS vision, to be a sustainable organization, EFP (Equity funded plants) business vertical was set-up in 2017. Primary objective of the EFP vertical is to launch a purpose driven brand, in urban market, under Packaged drinking water segment. EFP business will enable higher Gross Profit (GP) through better price points and scale. The profits from the EFP business will be utilized for enabling access to water in rural India through cross-subsidization. Through this model, NCWS will attain sustainability and continue to create more social impact to communities. EFP business is currently test marketing this concept with the 20 lit bubble top Packaged drinking water SKU, in Hyderabad city, targeting the Corporate accounts, Small office establishments and institutions. The positioning of the brand is differentiated from the current competition on the following aspects a. Profits from the business are invested for the access to safe drinking water to rural communities. Thus the customers are associated with a purpose driven brand b. Direct to customer distribution with no third party intervention, thus ensuring complete control on the quality of the product till delivery, and addressing the possible adulteration of product in the distribution We have set-up hub & spoke distribution model, for manufacturing and distribution. Job description:

Formulate EFP strategy, draft annual marketing, sales, production and distribution plans and oversee their implementation, capture market opportunity for EFP products, and identify opportunities in value added products WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF achieving profitability targets.

The incumbent will also be part of the Leadership Team (LT) of NCWS and will actively contribute in the strategic evolution of the organization.

  1. Formulate the Brand positioning strategy for EFP business
  2. Needs to identify where max business potential is, in urban areas, for Packaged drinking water segment
  3. Prepare annual sales plans & budgets for each cluster in line with the overall business strategy.
  4. Lead the process for formulating pricing strategy, Go to market strategy, Route to Market strategy
  5. Propose plan for expansion and a suitable model for replication
  6. Monitor adherence to plans and policies and take corrective action as required to achieve planned business growth and profitability.

Responsible for Market information and changes happening in the Industry and updating the management to make future plans in line with the trends.

Product Mix and Pricing:

  1. Take decisions on product mix, volumes, customer segment, and geographical mix in order to maximize contribution and asset utilization for the company
  2. Recommend prices/price revisions based on market conditions within the budget fixed at the beginning of the year
  3. Get approvals for variations in budget from CEO

Legal & Compliance:

  1. Ensure business operations is held within the purview of legal & regulatory framework
  2. Ensure necessary documentation & process are in place for compliance, with help from support team
  3. Work with support team for co-ordination with government authorities, as relevant, for the legal & regulatory departments

Quality, Environment and Safety:

  1. Develop quality standards and guidelines for entire operating processes in coordination with the Quality team
  2. Oversee its effective implementation with support from Quality team
  3. Conceptualize environment and safety initiatives across all plants and ensure its implementation
  4. Support Quality team in conducting internal as well as external audits, carry out gap analysis and take corrective action 

Team Development:

  1. Build and help retention of a competent and high performing EFP team members
  2. Ensure skill enhancement of team through coaching and training
  3. Provide performance feedback on time
  4. Recognize team members for performance and plan for their career progression and succession
