Power Solutions is responsible for developing, verifying, and industrialising wind turbines and related products. It is here that we lay Vestas' technical- and technological foundation for staying the global leader in sustainable energy solutions by continuously reducing the Levelized Cost of Energy.
The Powertrain Module department currently consists of 90 highly skilled employees, primarily situated in Denmark and Germany, and with teams extending to Portugal, India, China, and US. The department is accountable for the Powertrain Module, converting mechanical energy from the wind turbine rotor into electrical power. The Powertrain Module consists of Sub-Modules and building blocks such as the main gearbox, generator, main bearing arrangement, lubrication system and auxiliary components such as brakes, couplings, and suspension/damper systems. We have an immediate opening for a Project Manager, responsible driving advance technology- and new module development projects within Powertrain Project Management. Activities hereunder involves all facets product development, from scope preparation in collaboration with Technical Leads, to specification of requirements and concepts, to product development and to final validation in the field. Many activities hereunder are anchored at external partners such as suppliers, consultancy networks and universities around the globe, and this aspect requires a candidate who possesses good communication skills, a commercial mindset, and not least - a distinct ability to guide technical and complex projects forward.
Responsibilities
Your responsibility will be project management of advance technology and new module development projects following Vestas's project models and governing principles of Prince2. You will report to the Module Program Manager of Powertrain Project Management, hence become part of the project management team, which sets out the directions for all projects implemented within the Module.
