Job description:

Tower Module is maintaining and developing the complete Vestas tower program. The tasks range from structural development & engineering, tools development, project management over highly specialized FEM calculations, requirements specifications, DFMEA, test planning and execution to risk assessments and compilation of certification documentation.

Tower Value Engineering is a sub-module to the Tower Module. The sub-module is responsible for providing site specific customized tower/turbine solution​ for both onshore and offshore projects. This includes feasibility study for bidding​, detailed tower design and certification support​.

Tower Value Engineering is also innovating the Repowering activities for Towers, i.e. performing feasibility studies and providing turbine solutions for repowering projects where new blades are installed on existing turbines.

 

Responsibilities

  • As Sub-module owner for the Tower Value Engineering team your primary responsibility will be to motivate the area;
  • Supervise and develop the team,
  • Assume full responsibility and leadership within site specific solutions and repowering incl. development and optimization of designs and processes.
  • Develop strategic direction and "line of sight" of the area
  • Creation of goals and alignment of development areas for your employees
  • Supervise resources and prioritisations in alignment with project management and stakeholders
  • Identify project opportunities for your area
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks within project scopes together with your team
  • Supervise and align project tasks with employees and stakeholders - Ensure execution of the Vestas project model within the area
  • Full responsibility for KPIs and sub-module performance.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor, Master or other relevant engineering background in Structural or Mechanical Engineering
  • Min. 5 to 10 years of relevant management experience including insight in project management
  • Experience with running mid or large range international engineering teams
  • Experience with design of towers for wind turbines or other mast/chimney structures
  • Experience within structural assessments using FEA, structural analysis, fatigue analysis is desirable
  • Experience within bolted connections, fatigue analysis, and buckling analysis is desirable
  • Experience within structural certification of heavy equipment is desirable
