Amazon's marketplace in India, is building a team to take customer experience to the next level by building capabilities that are relevant for our customers in India. Our Development team plays a pivotal role in this program, with the mission to build a comprehensive solution for the Consumer business. As part of this team you will work to ensure Amazon.in experience is seamless and has the best shopping experience. It’s a great opportunity to develop and enhance experiences for Mobile devices first. You will work on analyzing the latency across the various Amazon.in pages using MS3, RedShift, DynamoDB, Java, and Ruby on Rails. You will get the opportunity to code on almost all key pages on retail website building features and improving business metrics. You will also contribute reducing latency for customers by reducing the bytes on wire and adapting the UX based on network bandwidth. You will be part of a team that obsesses about the performance of our customer’s experience and enjoy flexibility to pursue what makes sense. Basic qualifications

• 2.5 to 9 years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# or Python or Golang or Ruby including object-oriented design
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

Key Responsibilities include:-

• Ability to code right solutions starting with broadly defined problems,
• Understand basic Algorithm fundamentals
• Development of code in object oriented languages like C++ and java and build large scale robust distributed systems

Candidates for this role must have:

• Good knowledge Computer Science fundamentals
• Understanding of the tools of the trade, including an understanding of any of modern programming languages (Java / JavaScript / C/C++).
• Proven educational track record with sound data structure and algorithm knowledge

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or Engineering
• Object-oriented design and coding skills (C/C++ and/or Java preferably on a UNIX or Linux platform)
• Knowledge of Perl or other scripting languages a plus
• Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
• Experience in optimization mathematics (linear programming, nonlinear optimization)
• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
• Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
• Previous technical internship(s) preferred
