ABOUT THE OPERATIONS IT TEAM 

 

Operations IT is a global IT capability supporting the Global Operations organization. We business partner with  Operations capability areas: Pharmaceutical Technology Development, Manufacturing & Global Engineering, Quality Control, Sustainability, Supply Chain, Logistics and Global External Sourcing and Procurement. We operate out of Operations hubs sites including in the UK, Sweden, US, and China; and out of our Global Technology Centres in India and Mexico.

THIS IS WHAT YOU’LL DO 

 

In this detail-oriented role, the Application Support Engineer must be: knowledgeable with the use of logistics and Labelling solutions like Loftware & Temperature Sensitive Solutions.  The candidate is expected to be a collaborative team member in supporting and maintaining the business-critical application. The candidate should possess broad functional knowledge in his/her domain and in-depth technical knowledge in Deliver solutions. 

  • Ensure optimum performance and stability for multiple supply systems for the logistics and labelling business process for AstraZeneca Operations, including providing workarounds and identifying areas for improvement or solutions to permanently address the issue 
  • Handle 2nd/ 3rd line support (technical queries, bug fixes and small enhancements relating to application and platform), complying with Astra Zeneca standards, change control procedures 
  • Take ownership of issues through from delivery or issue resolution or escalation, as appropriate 
  • Support development activities by helping in code build and deployment, tool configuration management and administration, application environment set up, change and release management 
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to multiple systems and support multiple business groups 
  • Develop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, documenting and sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teams 
  • Liaise with multiple stake holders including users, infrastructure/middleware teams, 3rd party software vendors for resolving issues and potential process improvements  
  • Responsible for recommending continuous improvement solutions to the Service Lead & Service Manager 
  • Ensures that the IT Service Delivery Framework is adhered to by support  
  • Ensures that the application operates within and complies with any regulatory, financial or internal AstraZeneca standards (GxP, SOx).    
  • Has supporting responsibility for the DR testing and coordinating associated activities across the eco system. 
  • Responsible for completing the Application Life Cycle plans for individual applications, which incorporate all attributes of the technology stack, to the required level of detail. 
  • Has primary responsibility for maintaining and updating all documentation associated to the service throughout its lifecycle. 
  • Ability to guide and mentor team members.  
  • Supports the Service lead & Service Manager in reviewing the performance of the applications within the capability 
  • Working in DevOps and Agile way of working
