Job Description Overview

Product Manager will be responsible for the overall vision, roadmap and P&L of the product. Product Manager will also be responsible to oversee product evolution through bundling and enhancing capabilities, establish go-to-market strategy, optimize the product and resources, implement incremental improvements within the product’s life cycle and manage P&L.

The job will include, but not limited to, creation of product road maps, requirement gathering, designing and creation of functional approach documentation based on robust competitor analysis & market research.

  1. Banking Domain: Corporate & Retail
  2. Business Solutions: Sales / RM Workbench, Acquisition & Cross Sell Analytics, Working Capital Optimization, Pricing Engine, Supply Chain Analytics etc.

Role Summary

  • Provide expertise and thought leadership for the Product to both internal and external stakeholders. Through this role you will own the end-to-end Product Strategy.
  • Own the roadmap of product/features to design and develop, cross-functionally coordinate launches to market, and drive subsequent improvements, basic data analysis and user research.
  • Identify, evaluate and prioritize business use cases for new business and product bundling opportunities, and build business models that would improve footprint and value proposition.
  • Able to drive the product/feature in a dynamic environment, by demonstrating radical ownership, a bias to action, working well with cross-functional teams, and thriving in a very high-performance environment.
  • Lead broad commercialization initiatives including establishing go to market approach and KPIs for the product success, setting objectives in partnership with different regional sales leads, while driving commercial plans to ensure success.
  • Advises and supports Sales and Delivery teams by recommending and influencing product pricing and has full ownership of the development of training and other product support materials.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds.
  • Be the bridge between product engineering, other product managers, marketing, and commercial and operations teams, and ensure alignment on priorities, initiatives, and outcomes related to your product & services.
  • Drive revenue and profit growth in your product portfolio through a tight commercial business case approach to roadmaps and new market propositions by working closed with Clients, Prospects, Partners and ultimately Sales & Pre-Sales
  • Ensuring the success of your product portfolio by being close to clients from running regular user groups through to supporting on boarding of pilot clients or beta programs.
  • Actively drive progress across teams towards key KPIs for your product area. Achieve revenue, client penetration and other assigned KPIs.
  • Take up market research, competitor analysis and co-ordinate with in-house teams to find ways to enhance the product and broaden the market reach for the product, by discussing with various stakeholders like Sales, Engineering, Marketing, Consulting and other teams, Product Walk-throughs and Preparing various marketing material and external facing documents.
  • Roll-out new products, ensure proper maintenance of product offering, and reduce complexity of product offer.
  • Build a strong product team with strong execution culture and lead project planning and delivery.
  • Analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans.

Essential Qualification

BE/B.Tech Graduate. PGD / MBA will be preferred


  • 8 - 10 years
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are having a good experience in

      (i) implementing large projects in BSG/BIU/Analytics units of Banks (or)

      (ii) driving a Product roadmap in a IT company that offers solutions to Banking clients.

Strong domain knowledge in the Banking Space (Wholesale Banking, Retail)

Skills / Qualities required

  • Good understanding of banking domain especially in the area of operation i.e. Credit risk, Credit underwriting process, Regulatory reporting, Sales Productivity and performance management and Analytics.  Banking domain experience from either Product management at a bank or Fintech vendor, Project Services, or Pre-Sales.
  • Self-motivated individual who can involve in various market research activities, identify the market needs and gaps in the existing system and create product road maps.
  • Motivated professional with agile mindset, able to learn quickly and to work in a startup-like environment
  • Comfort and experience working with an agile development approach; Agile and Jira experience in large, regulated organizations
  • Excellent oral and written communication, basic project management and matrix-management skills are a plus
  • Experience of delivering go to market plans, planning, budgets and business case development, and product goal setting
  • Experience in product management/development, program management, strategy, marketing and/or related position in a consumer-oriented, technology-dependent environment in financial services
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner, execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Planning and organization skills with ability to deliver results under stringent timelines
