BU / FUNCTION DESCRIPTION

ROLE OBJECTIVE
The Embedded Software Engineer will report to the Supervisor Software Engineering, Energy and will be a member of the Electronic and Sensor Integration Engineering team and responsible for the development of software for systems and products and will support all TE Energy product lines including Crompton Instruments (Power meters), Cable Accessories, Insulation & Protection and Connectors & fittings for LV, MV & HV applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• All aspects of the software development life cycle:
o Requirements capture
o Feasibility study and architecture definition
o Software design & implementation
o Integration and validation test
• Core team member of project teams to develop new products/processes from seed to market place using LDFSS tools, techniques, TE Project and metrics
• Support product compliance and approvals for all new products and platforms as required by our customers.

• Work closely with Product Management, Sales and customers on the identification and development of new products
• Provision of technical product support and training to our manufacturing, sales organizations and customers
• Be a strong technical partner and provide support to Product management teams. Attend/support customer meetings, technology days and site visits as required.
• Recording results of design reviews and design decision meetings and report writing
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE
• Computing/Electrical/Electronic Engineering Degree
• 6+ years of experience in embedded software development in an R&D environment
• C/C++ programming
• Work experience with standard embedded platforms e.g., Atmel, STM32, TI, Freescale/NXP, Renesas, Nordic, Microchip
• Good knowledge of ARM Cortex -M architecture.
• Good understanding of Key Peripherals: USB, SPI, I2C, UART, Modbus etc.
• Embedded Linux and development of applications on Linux platform, Shell Scripting
• Working knowledge of API integration preferably REST API
• Low level micro controller development, e.g., device drivers, configuring clocking modes, power management and board bring-up. • Experience on Unit testing and Static code analysis, MISRA C standards.
• Good knowledge on Software / Hardware debugging tools, Oscilloscopes, JTAG, Logic Analyzers.
• Good knowledge on version control software like GIT, SVN.
• Experience in LoRAWAN or LPWAN, MQTT, ZigBee, Bluetooth 5.1 supporting BLE protocol and aware with IoT infrastructure will be added advantage.
• Experience in implementing security compliance / NIST guidelines
• Familiarity with encryption algorithms for data encryption & cryptographic libraries is a plus.
• Software development life cycle
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to work under minimal supervision is crucial.
• Flexibility to travel internationally to visit customers, development partners and suppliers.
