BU / FUNCTION DESCRIPTION

ROLE OBJECTIVE

 

The Supervisor - Technical Support will report to Engineering Manager Solar Energy and will be responsible for managing a team of CAD engineers, the role will be responsible for managing sustaining activities for TE Energy products lines mainly connectors and fittings used in LV & MV applications.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Supervise CAD engineering team and to provide sustaining support for the existing and new product range within Energy Business Unit.
  • Plan, organize and manage tasks/activities on daily basis.
  • Release of drawings, assembly instructions and other engineering documentation.
  • Ensure Engineering Bill of Material is created and released with all necessary information.
  • To contribute in achieving departmental targets – specifically ‘Delivery on Time, Quality, Productivity targets for sustaining activities.
  • Work closely with the Global Engineering and product & project management teams.
  • Provide guidance and direction to CAD team to ensure operational, technical excellence in alignment with departmental goals and strategies.
  • Identify opportunities and recommendations for increasing workflow efficiencies based on LEAN methodologies.
  • Maintain documentation records of generated design deliverables.
  • Support to new Product Development team across a range of connector projects.
  • Perform necessary quality check for CAD data and ensure high level of accuracy.

 

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

 

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical engineering
  • 10+ years’ experience in product life cycle management and CAD Engineering in Automotive or Industrial Domain Industries with a minimum of 2 years in managing teams.
  • Experience in Creo software, Auto-CAD, PDM -Windchill.
  • Experience in Product life cycle management.
  • Experience in GD&T and Tolerance Stackup analysis.
  • Knowledge in product design of plastic/rubber and machining components.
  • Knowledge in CAD Productivity Improvement tools, Design Automation.
  • Experience in reverse engineering an advantage.
  • Experience in Product Environmental Compliance regulations and industry standards such as ROHS, REACH.
