ROLE OBJECTIVE

 

The Electronics Engineer II will report to the Supervisor Electronics Engineering, Energy and will be a member of the Electronic and Sensor Integration Engineering team responsible for design of products and sustaining engineering support for existing products. The role will support all TE Energy product lines including Crompton Instruments (Power meters), Cable Accessories, Insulation & Protection and Connectors & fittings for LV, MV & HV applications.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Design of antennas or suggesting right “off the shelf” antennas per product application
  • Designing analogue circuits like filters, matching networks, amplifier circuits to meet product requirements, V&V the system performance
  • Sourcing and working with suppliers of antenna’s, sensor technologies to integrate these into TE condition monitoring platforms
  • Reverse engineering study to develop electronic designs and board layouts
  • Plan and implement testing programs for new products that meet internal, international and customer specific test requirements
  • Assist global engineering team with New Product Developments across a range of projects and executing on cost optimization/reduction (VA/VE) opportunities for the business
  • Preparing design verification test plans, Design & Process FMEAs
  • Support product compliance (IEC, EN, UL)and approvals for all new products and platforms as required by our customers.
  • Successfully facilitate transfer and support of new product introduction (NPI) into high volume manufacturing. Provide support/consultancy to Manufacturing.
  • Supporting the design of jigs & fixtures for product testing where required.

 

 

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

 

  • Engineering Degree (BE / Btech) or Masters (ME / Mtech) in Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics with minimum 5+ years of experience in electronics circuits design and development, RF, Microwave circuit and antenna design, link budget analyses in wireless communications
  • Strong knowledge on analog with hands on amplifier circuits
  • Hands on experience with RF and microwave circuit (Radiation pattern measurement and range testing) standalone and integration testing
  • Hands on experience with RF circuits design, simulations using simulation tools like CST (preferred), ADS, HFSS, COMSOL, ANSYS. including circuit simulators e.g SPICE
  • Experience on using spectrum analyzer, Vector Network analyzer (VNA), power analyzer, soldering equipment, oscilloscopes (CRO).
  • Experience on anechoic chamber testing is an added advantage
  • Board level EMI / EMC, ESD and noise reducing techniques.
  • Hands on experience on circuits design & PCB design using CAD (Altium) is added advantage
  • Organized, methodical and self-motivated individual with the ability to work under minimal supervision, on own initiative and meet own commitments is essential.
  • Experience in reverse engineering
