Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas and technologies are matured, developed, tested, and improved. To put it short, VPS is the cornerstone of Vestas. We are shaping the future of modern energy. Engineering Development is the part of VPS guiding, defining and supporting both short and long-term targets for HOW we engineer across our wind turbine platforms and modules.
This position is raised in PDM and CAD Development where we are responsible for the implementation, and customization of PTC Windchill as our PLM system to support the business execution. The department has 10 employees and 20-30 consultants placed across two continents. We develop, maintain and support PLM and CAD software with high focus on system integration and business processes for the full value chain. We work closely together with Global IT.


Responsibilities

  • Set focus on quality of PLM and CAD software

  • Evaluate feedback from the business users and take lead in categorization

  • Propel root cause analysis behind system issues

  • Join team of solution architects and propose solutions 

  • Implement solutions with focus on 99% uptime, maintainability, and IT security

  • Development of automated tests to improve productivity

  • Conduct manual tests when needed and enable delivery of high quality software

  • Take initiatives to develop methods to automatically monitor system performance

  • Keep yourself and the department up-to-date on relevant technology

 

Qualifications

  • Master's / Bachelor's in Computer Science / Information Technology / Similar specialization

  • Minimum of 6-10 years of experience

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry

  • Experience with PTC Windchill business administration 

  • Experience with CAD software in general and the related API 

  • Experience with ERP systems and PLM/ERP system integration

  • Database skills (e.g. SQL scripts)

  • Experience with software development and management (e.g. DevOps)

  • Programming skills (e.g. VBA, C Sharp, C++)
