Product Solutions & Integration > Loads & Controls > LaC Quality

 

As a part of Vestas Power Solutions, the LaC Quality department in Loads & Control is responsible for the calculation of loads, power curves for the standard products. We are also responsible for customized site-specific solutions for any new project and continuous improvements for the existing fleet.The main deliveries from the department are load envelope to other component groups as well as commercial power performance document. Currently, the department consists of 20+ highly skilled and motivated engineers situated in Chennai. The team is committed to doing their very best every day and we encourage a culture where we positively and developing breakthrough solutions with a great degree of collaboration - as we believe this maximizes the value of our products.LaC Quality works in a global setup, you will be cooperating with colleagues in our functional office in Aarhus, Denmark, and Porto. You will have many very high skilled colleagues in a social yet result-oriented atmosphere.

 

Responsibilities

  • You will be part of a team providing Load and Power Performance engineering solutions on existing products improving loads, power curves, and noise

  • Standard & non-standard products, root cause analysis, and problem-solving related to turbines in operation, and support development

  • The work involves a high level of engineering i.e. balancing a solution towards various specific requirements

  • Scope the load's activity for tasks comes to this team

  • You will mainly work on reviewing time series analysis and conclusions from the team

  • You will be responsible for documenting and presenting your work in a precise way to your internal and external stakeholders

  • You will be responsible to coordinate the projects in alignment with Loads Functional lead and signoff the technical risk

  • You are expected to contribute to process improvements with innovative solutions in order to deliver the projects more efficiently, a regular workshop

 

Qualifications

  • PhD's / Master's / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Structure / Aerodynamics / Civil Engineering

  • 12 - 15 years of industrial experience (Wind experience is preferable)

  • Experience with implementing the projects as per guidelines & processes from a load and control perspective

  • Hands-on experience in loads evaluation for standard platform turbines or site-specific

  • Experience with the wind turbine modeling tools like Flex5, Bladed, or HAWC2 (aero-elastic simulations)

  • Solid competencies within a dynamic simulation of mechanical systems

  • Knowledge of control of mechanical systems

  • Knowledge of strength calculations
