Purpose of the Role

 

This role is for an experienced technical specialist to work within the ISS Data & Reporting development team The position is for a Oracle PL/SQL lead developer in Fidelity International. The role involves working in partnership with other members of the team and the business areas, to develop, implement and support the web solutions.

 

 

The Technical Specialist role is focused on delivery of critical functionality for existing and new applications. The candidate is expected to devise solutions to complex problems while working within project constraints and requirements with special focus on maintainability, scalability and performance. The successful candidate will be a key member of the delivery team currently distributed across India and the UK. As a new joiner the individual is expected to bring up to date ideas and thoughts on tools, practices etc.
Knowledge of working in Agile Team with DevOps principles would be an additional advantage.
The role requires close working with colleagues in the UK offices, and the candidate may be required to work UK business hours sometimes. On occasions the candidate may also be required to work extended hours/weekends to cover changes and release implementations, for example. This role would perfectly suit a dynamic individual looking to work in a fast paced environment to ensure the smooth running of business critical systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Hands on Advanced Oracle PL/SQL and Datawarehousing concepts
• Working knowledge of Python is preferred.
• System Design, analysis, development, unit testing and L3 support of components developed.
• Technical design documentation wherever required.
• Writing high quality & performant code.
• Writing complex SQL queries & PL/SQL (Packages/Functions/Ref cursors)
• Performance tuning
• Hands on Unix, Control M or any other equivalent schedulling tools

  Exposure of CI/CD toolsets like Bamboo, Urban Deploy

 

Experience and Qualifications Required

 

• BE / B-Tech / MCA
• 8-10 Years of Experience
• Strong Experience with Oracle PL SQL & Data warehouse

  Good understanding of RDBMS Concepts
• Hands on Experience in writing complex SQL queries
• Extensive experience and hands-on knowledge of PL/SQL (Packages/Functions/Ref cursors)
• Experience in performance aspects of large databases
• Hands on Unix, Control M or any other equivalent schedulling tools
• Exposure of continuous integration toolsets like Bamboo, Urban Deploy
• Good understanding of more than one software development methodology (Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
• Experience in Agile development
• Exposure and knowledge of Investment banking domain
• Extremely good communication skills, verbal and written
• Excellent inter-team relationship skills
