Digital Workplace - Desktop Solution Architect o IT Centre Bengaluru GDTC Apply Digital Workplace - Desktop Solution Architect Job Description Scope/Categories: Key Interfaces: Digital workplace architects, Level 2-3 engineers, IT Leadership, IT Infrastructure Consultants and Analysts, Global and Regional Leaders, External research agencies and vendors, External technology influence boards. Travel may include 5-10% of worktime. Key Accountabilities: Carries out full impact analysis of new software releases and recommends upgrade plans. Reviews upgrades and fixes available from system software suppliers and identifies those which merit action. Designs and develops technology solutions to satisfy business objectives and tailors system software to ensure maximum efficiency. Prepares software implementation procedures with fall back contingency plans. Ensures that new versions of system software are properly installed and thoroughly tested. Ensure that the risks associated with the installation or decommissioning are understood and that measures to reduce them are adopted where appropriate. Investigates installations not achieving design aim or business requirement and makes recommendations for remedial action. Selects, in consultation with additional senior management as required, appropriate design standards, methods and tools and ensures they are applied effectively. Takes full technical responsibility for all aspects of systems specification and design, ensuring compatibility with enterprise and solutions architectures. Advises system development teams on the evaluation and impact analysis of major design options. Plays a major technical role in the assessment and selection of system and platform applications software packages. Provides operational oversight of junior team members and outsourced partner in the delivery of projects and day-to-day activities. Responsible for information flow to and from customer interface during project work. Responsible for one or more installation projects, providing effective team leadership. Key Qualifications and Experiences: A Bachelors degree with 10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 or more years of applied experience with demonstrated skills. Ability to architect solutions to transition the modern desktop with Windows 10 Enterprise, Office 365 clients using System Center Configuration Manager, Intune, and Azure AD. Architect design and experience in software packaging and distribution of tools in large scale global enterprise environments. Demonstrated experience in Unified Cloud computing environments with knowledge and expertise on application hosting approaches which includes, private cloud, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). Experience in leading projects and working in an Agile project environment. Expert technical understanding and of Windows Desktop x64 operating systems and management of desktop/laptop hardware. Has a thorough knowledge of two or more software platforms, and awareness of further configurations. Has good knowledge of two or more system software products which are used by the organization. Has a thorough understanding of the system interfaces. Has a good understanding of the organizations business processes and their degree of dependence on information systems. Has good inter-personal skills. Is well organized and practical, with a logical, analytical approach to problem solving. Pays careful, close attention to detail. Has an extensive understanding of installing many of the items of hardware and/or software to be found in own organization; has also acquired specialist expertise in all areas of installation. Has knowledge and expertise in network routing, switching, segmentation, firewalls, and voice and/or video components in an operational office environment. Must understand technology to connect and collaborate across the global organization. Has recognized expertise in the technical specialism, the technology involved, current developments, the most commonly available products, and the application of the specialism within a technical or business environment. Has a sound, broad knowledge of IT and an excellent understanding of how the technical specialism relates to other areas of IT and how it impacts on other business functions. Can influence at all levels of the organization. Has leadership skills and can manage a team. Has the knowledge and understanding of how to enable and integrate applications platforms. It includes having the ability to automate key functions that support the environment by creating intelligent bots to monitor, accept requests, and take action across multiple platforms and systems. This includes the understanding of cross platform dependencies and the key factors to determine design decisions such as business continuity and system classification. Scripting expertise to automate incident, event triggers and workflow. Shows evidence of analytical ability and attention to detail. Appreciates the importance of commercial constraints. Has a comprehensive knowledge of all stages of systems development, from specification to implementation. Understanding of ITIL practices, focusing on operational efficiency and improving delivery speed, agility and automation to support rapidly changing business needs. This includes use of data-driven analytics and advanced algorithms, service management practices to systematically remove waste, improve efficiencies, cut costs and delight end users. Working knowledge of desktop security products as tools such as Okta, identity management tools, data loss prevention tools and federated authentication solutions. Verbal and written fluency in English is mandatory. Global VISA and Relocation Specifications: K-C requires that an employee have authorization to work in the country in which the role is based. In the event an applicant does not have current work authorization, K-C will determine, in its sole discretion, whether to sponsor an individual for work authorization. However, based on immigration requirements, not all roles are suitable for sponsorship. This role is available for local candidates already authorized to work in the roles country only.
