The Global Supply Management (GSM) team at Micron is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual for the role of Material Planner. The role is an opportunity to utilize his or her analytical, business, and process improvement skills to minimize material shortages and excess situations. In this role, you are responsible for short-term as well as long-term material planning for Micron’s internal sites and subcontractors. Co-piloting with the procurement team members, you play an active role in ensuring optimal material stocks at multiple Micron sites.
In addition, you collaborate with teams through positive relationships and co-ownership in achieving overall site and departmental metrics, while consistently evaluating opportunities and supporting process updates to improve overall performance.
In this exciting role, you will play an active role in the overall material planning solutions deployment where you will be the go-to-expert for Material Planning related activities including in UAT (User-Acceptance Testing), validating & analyzing data, working with IT on system issues, and ensure resolutions are obtained, conducting training to multi-functional teams, etc. You will identify continuous improvements opportunities and process initiatives in parallel to day-to-day business operations problem solving – more than report an issue, uses appropriate knowledge, tools, and methods to seek problems.
The Material Planning team interfaces activity with various teams in Micron, including teams from Global Supply Management (Tactical and Supply Chain Planning), SCP (Supply Chain Planning), BECP (backend capacity planning), and Procurement to maintain optimal material levels.
