Job description:

Purpose of your role

The vacancy is for a highly motivated Project Manager in the Data Value team who will be responsible for delivery of MI and advanced analytics use cases. The successful candidate who will lead one or two cross functional Data Value squads shall oversee all aspects of an engagement(s) using planning, monitoring and controlling processes as per the Fidelity guidelines and standards, and shall be responsible for completion of initiatives on time, on budget and meeting the requirements. Each Data Value squad would be a team of Proposition analysts, Data Scientists, Data engineers, and Data Visualisation developers. To this end, PM will perform a variety of tasks including coordinating all resources and stakeholders, planning and setting milestones, assigning responsibilities and monitoring, creating high performing project teams and form excellent working relationships with senior customer representatives across multiple business and System teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Work with the different business and technology functions to understand their landscape and plan the implementation strategy for roll out of our use cases.
  • Communicate the squad’s long- and short-term priorities across the organization in the form of product roadmap and focus on delivering a Minimum Viable version
  • Break down the business inputs into granular stories that deliver incremental value and help stitch together the return on investment as those stories get delivered.
  • Keep the backlog recent and be able to say ‘No’
  • Maintain a strong awareness of the different tools that are available and being used in our industry, in particular by our competitors.

Delivery

  • Deploy Agile delivery methods, tools and engineering to ensure high quality outcome.
  • Work towards achieving a relatively constant and predictable velocity and frequent smaller releases to deliver expected value.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and keep business stakeholders sufficiently involved during delivery of features.

People Management

  • Lead a team comprising of poly-skilled people with ability to work across different technology stacks
  • Foster a culture whereby team members are empowered to make decisions in the best interest of the product and willingly take high personal accountability for their decisions & actions
  • Guide the team such that they embrace the constructs of a high-performing, self-organising team – ensuring team goals take precedence over individual goals
  • Facilitate intelligent risk taking and use every mistake as a team learning opportunity. Encourage people to think out of the box and challenge norms smartly without diluting quality and controls in the production environment
  • Continuously communicate within the team to ensure clear visibility and understanding of their individual roles and growth aspirations.
  • Lead by example and earn the respect of your team – use principles from ‘servant-leader’ concept.

Experience and Qualifications

  • BE / B-Tech / MCA / Any Graduate .
  • Overall 10+ years’ experience with at least 5+ year experience in software delivery & project management, handling small to mid-sized teams

Essential Skills            

  • Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to teach and learn from others
  • Previous success working within AM/IM context with focus on front office investment opportunities – in either a buy or sell-side business.  Good knowledge of industry standard portfolio, program & project management methodologies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and navigate complex decision making
  • Experience in delivering and maintaining products (including 3rd party vendor apps) with cross geography teams is a plus
  • Experience of tools like Atlassian suite, Pivotal Tracker, Basecamp etc. is desired.
  • Good working experience delivering enterprise applications across technology stacks like modern programming languages (like Java, .Net, Python etc), Integration technologies (MQ, WMB), Data (Oracle, Informatica, DB2, Cassandra, MongoDB etc), Cloud (Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, Azure etc) and DevOps tools (Splunk, NewRelic, Geneos etc)
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment

 

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in implementing and maintaining metadata management and data governance platforms
  • Knowledge on data analytics including AI/ML, data management, data governance, data architecture and data modelling.
