ROLE OBJECTIVE
New product development and sustenance engineering: Design, development, testing, manufacturing and sustenance engineering of Engineered Polymer Solutions (EPS) and Wire and Cable (WNC) value streams
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for product development from market definition through production and release.
Provide sustenance support such as engineering change management, PCN, product compliance, addressing quality issues, customer complaints etc. in coordination with global teams
Perform activities concerned with design, development, manufacturing and testing.
Conceives ideas for new products and use the engineering tools to create models and drawings,.
Determines specifications, performs engineering analyses, makes preliminary sketches and design, coordinate and support operations such as fabrication of prototypes and testing.
Interacts with customers, vendors, marketing and sales personnel, and other engineering areas during the pre-production stages of new products.
Manage and take responsibility for documentations and records such as the ‘Drawings Data File’ or ‘Design History File’ and Engineering Change Requests/Notifications
Initiate necessary engineering analysis like FEA, Mold flow
Assess technical complaints and solve problems during further development
Communicating and resolving technical issues for legacy product with internal and external customers.
Preparation of electrical test and product specifications for new product development.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE
BE/ B.Tech (Mechanical)
Practical/Hands on experience to electro mechanical / wire & cable design
CRITICAL EXPERIENCE
6-8 years of experience and hands-on working in on electromechanical, plastic and wire and cable design.
Knowledge in design and fabrication of plastic, tubing and wire & cable components
Strong proven track record in engineering
Knowledge on HV, RF, Multicore cables and respective industry standards
Experience with electrical equipment development from concept to industrialization (VOC, DOE, FMEA) – Preferred
Ability to work as a Teamplayer.
Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
COMPETENCIES
Good skills in Creo & PDMLink (Windchill)
Skilled in engineering tools and processes like, DFMEA, tolerance stack up, DFM/DFA, GD&T, product validation
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work across global multicultural team
Ability to think out of the box, innovative mindset.
Capable of driving assignments by taking ownership and accountability.
Knowledge in any cable design software is added advantage
