About your team
The UK WPFH Group is charged with the development and operating model for Fidelity’s platforms for the Personal Investing business and Fidelity Advisory Solutions busines, including implementation of web & mobile front end and service layer, interfaces, document composition and production, STP/automation and migrations from legacy systems. Our objective is to be the ‘supplier of choice’ for all Investment Platform services to our businesses as well as having the clear mandate to identify the future opportunities that will maintain and extend Fidelity’s lead in online financial services.
The department is currently expanding in order to satisfy the high level of demand for both short term tactical project delivery and the execution of a programme of strategic development which will see the complete reshaping of our platform capability and customer experience through the replacement and enhancement of our existing platform capability which supports our growing direct and intermediated businesses in the region.
About your role
The successful candidate would join the WPFH Technology QA team. Candidate would be responsible for testing of all aspects of functionality on multi-platform, multi-client systems developed on varied platforms. The person would be responsible for the creation, execution and maintaining of all QA activities for the assigned project, including developing regression test suites for critical applications in the Personal Investing and Advisory Technology world. The person would also be expected to contribute to enhancing the QA capacity
About you
Experience and Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech/MBA/M.C.A/Any other bachelors Degree
- 2-7 years of experience in Manual & Automation testing including the automation tool-Selenium (Selenium Web Driver), API testing, SOAP UI and preparation of automation test framework
- Experience in testing web based applications.
- Hands on experience in building functional test automation suites for end user applications
- Hands on experience to manage the requirement traceability with the test cases
- Proven record of achievements in testing teams.
- Knowledge of Agile software development life-cycle methodologies
Key Responsibilities
- Roles and responsibilities include working both on functional and automation side
- Create well defined and re-usable suites of functional tests for applications and products.
- Good Knowledge of applications under test
- Handling Day to Day activities of executing Test scripts and Test data preparation
- Assisting in the creation and being responsible for compliance to Testing standards, process, procedure and methodology across all test areas.
- Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance processes while writing Test Scripts.
- Peer review of scripts and scenarios done in accordance with QA processes
- Ensuring the 100% Test Coverage and quality of Test scripts/Scenarios
- Creation and maintenance of Automation scripts using Selenium with Java, SOAP UI for API testing Execution of tests in efficient and organised way.
- Maintain a current working knowledge of the key business systems
- Conduct detailed defect analysis after each testing phase to analyse correct root cause of defects.
- Think from a customer viewpoint and to understand the complexities of the business
- Experience of working in tight deadlines in a mature ‘complex’ testing environment
- Be able to demonstrate consistent and good judgement of assessing severity of issues.
- Provide inputs to the Test Leads for Project closure activities.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Understanding of automation test principles
- Thorough understanding of test principles such as unit, smoke, functional (black box/white box), user acceptance and usability testing.
- Candidate must be familiar software testing techniques, test methodologies, test automation tools and frameworks
- Exposure to structured software development life-cycle methodologies, preferably agile models
- Ability to understand functional specifications and design appropriate acceptance tests.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different levels of stakeholders in application delivery, QA and business groups
- Ability to estimate and present ROI calculation for automation initiatives.
- Ability to accurately log defects, escalate issues and risks and provide accurate management reporting.
- Experience of working in tight deadlines in a mature ‘time-boxed’ testing environment
- Be able to demonstrate consistent and good judgement of assessing severity of issues.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Understanding of multi-tiered technology architecture.
- Experience of object oriented programming using languages such as Java.
- Experience in any configuration management tools.
- Experience of working with Maven based projects.
