Job Description
As an Assistant Manager in Engineering and Utilities at ITC Limited's Dairy Division, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the plant through strategic planning, budgeting, and execution of engineering services. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the plant's machinery, reducing downtime, managing with minimal spares and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Result Areas
Maintenance Planning:
•Identify and plan required maintenance and engineering services for the plant.
•Recommend the engineering budget to the Operations Manager based on maintenance plans.
•Prepare engineering-related budgets, including spare parts, services, and modifications.
•Jointly finalize budgets with the Operations Manager.
Spare Parts Management:
•Identify required spare parts for engineering services.
•Evaluate procurement costs, negotiate prices, and identify vendors.
Preventive Maintenance:
•Prepare preventive maintenance schedules based on OEM manuals.
•Monitor and review implementation to ensure smooth operations.
Process Improvement:
•Identify and drive quality and process improvement initiatives based on production team inputs.
•Analyze root causes for machine downtime and implement improvement plans.
•Equipment Installation and Upgradation:
•Recommend requirements for new equipment/engineering services for existing and new product lines.
•Coordinate installation, commissioning, and stabilization of equipment.
Utilities Performance Monitoring:
•Monitor and review utilities-related key performance indicators on a daily and weekly basis.
•Provide feedback on plant performance to Operations Manager for overall improvement.
Safety and Compliance:
•Evaluate gaps in equipment and engineering services according to EHS manual.
•Prepare action plans, coordinate with EHS auditors, and ensure compliance.
Engineering graduate (Electrical /Mechanical) with a minimum of 8 -11 years of experience, including 4-6 years in the Foods/FMCG industry. Good to have Dairy Plant Experience
Strong knowledge of utilities like Ammonia Chiller, Boilers, ETPs, and water treatment.
Basic knowledge of the latest technology in equipment and engineering developments.
Understanding of foods/FMCG manufacturing processes and statutory requirements.
Team management, interpersonal, planning, coordination, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
