Sr Mgr-Instructional Design

 

What you’ll be doing...



 

You will lead a studio of instructional designers responsible for the creation of learning content & programs for the business markets sales employees. This includes some content creation impacting VBG sales globally for sales employees, data solutions engineers and architects, as well as sales enablement employees supporting business-to-business sales. You and your team will design, develop, and curate learning experiences that are engaging, fun, and most importantly build the capabilities needed to succeed in their new role and expand their Verizon career. Programs and learning approaches will align with our business needs and be highly effective & in tune with our culture. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders and L&D delivery teams to determine learner needs and the best learning experience.

  • Leading and coaching your team to create best-in-class new employee learning experiences that support the Verizon culture, sales methodology and processes, products, solutions and technological acumen (including 5G), and operations programs.

  • Managing team workload, setting priorities, allocating resources, and overcoming challenges to ensure delivery on time and on budget.

  • Providing regular updates to leadership on progress, results achieved, business impacts, and return on investment.

  • Elevating and developing L&D Talent.

Where you'll be working...

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

This position can be located in other valid Verizon locations.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and learning effectiveness (ROI).

  • Experience developing and/or designing curriculum.

  • Experience leading a team.

  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 25%.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours as required by the needs of the business.

Even better if you have:

  • A Master’s degree.

  • Experience in wireless, telecommunications, enterprise solutions, IOT, data, or similar technology fields.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead remote direct reports with minimal management direction and/or supervision and ability to lead project milestones.

  • Strong networking & relationship-building skills with employees at all levels of the business including the ability to prioritize work and offer choices to key stakeholders.

  • Excellent verbal & written skills, including experience providing feedback to others on learning programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to and manage changing environments as well as ability to guide employees through the change management process.
