ROLE DESCRIPTION

 

Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ) is a leading global provider of communication, information, and entertainment services for consumers, businesses, and government agencies. The Verizon Consumer Group (VCG) serves both wireless and wireline businesses, with 2020 revenues of $88.5 billion, accounting for 69% of Verizon's total revenues.

 

The Business Architecture and Strategy team within VCG plays a pivotal role in implementing the VCG-as-a-Platform (VCG-aaP) strategy, enabling business expansion and operational transformation. The Platform Strategy & Business Architecture function defines the long-term vision for platform aspirations, including business architecture blueprint and supporting the overall VCG strategy.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced technology enthusiast to drive the strategic vision and execution of innovative technologies like machine learning and generative AI. This role collaborates closely with senior leadership to develop an end-to-end (E2E) business platform architecture, shaping the future of VCG’s strategy.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

 

• Technical Proficiency: As a technology enthusiast, you should have a deep understanding of machine learning concepts, algorithms, and frameworks. A strong foundation in computer science, data science, or a related field is essential.

• Product Management Expertise: Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager with a focus on machine learning products. You should be adept at defining product roadmaps, managing the product life cycle, and working closely with cross-functional teams.

• Strategic Vision: Advisory for strategic initiatives - Create Business Architecture documents for all CXO requests. Develop a clear vision for machine learning product offerings that align with market trends and customer needs. Identify opportunities to integrate cutting-edge technology into our products. 

• Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data and analytics to make informed product decisions. Strong analytical skills are required to assess product performance and recommend improvements. 

• Business Architecture: Keep the blueprint refreshed on a regular basis with inputs from the business, technology teams, and capital planning processes. Demonstrated expertise in understanding and analyzing business processes, strategies, and goals. Ability to translate business objectives into product requirements.Shape business capabilities and platform modularity requirements in close collaboration with the business (i.e., CxO demand)

• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, executives, customers, and development teams.

• Business Acumen: Market Awareness: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in machine learning and AI technologies, and apply this knowledge to product strategy.

• Agile Methodology: Experience with agile development methodologies is preferred.

• User-Centric Approach: Prioritize user needs and incorporate user feedback into the product development process.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in the fields of Business Architecture and Product Management is preferred, demonstrating a track record of successful projects, innovative product development, and effective business strategies.

• Deep understanding of machine learning, computer science, data science, and product management.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering.

• Expertise in business architecture and experience in a large, complex organization.

• Technical and digital acumen with an understanding of advanced technologies.

• Proven domain expertise in telecommunications and experience in agile program delivery.

• Proficiency in creating roadmaps, financial business cases, and leading enterprise-level transformational projects.
